Corrie Kristick Named WAC Swimmer of the Week

DENVER – Freshman Corrie Kristick was named the Western Athletic Conference swimmer of the week Tuesday after winning three events in Rice's 149-88 dual meet victory over the University of Houston on Saturday.

Kristick, of Colorado Springs, Colo., won the 500 free, 1650 free, and the 400 individual medley. She holds Rice's top times in all three distance freestyle events this season: 4:58.55 in the 500, 10:17.55 in the 1000 and 17:04.65 in the 1650.

Rice (2-1-1), which won all 11 swimming events against Houston, hosts SMU in its first home dual meet of the season Friday night at 7 p.m. Texas A&M will visit the Rice Pool on Saturday at 1 p.m.
