Connecticut vs. Yale

NEW HAVEN, Connecticut, February 9. THE Bulldogs defeated UConn 164.5 to 133.5 in their home finale Saturday. Yale took first place in nine of the sixteen events.

The Yale `A' 200-yard medley relay team started the team off on a good note with a first place finish to earn Yale 11 points with a time of 1:47.75.

In the 1000-yard freestyle, freshman Brittany Iacouzze earned the Bulldogs 9 points with a first place finish. Iacouzze edged teammate junior Laura Strittmatter by less than four seconds. Iacouzze also edged Strittmatter in the 500-yard freestyle by just over a second.

In the 200-yard freestyle, freshman Ileana Lucos took first place with a time of 1:53.59. Lucos also took first place in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:06.32. Fellow freshman Annie Killian took second place in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:55.37.

In the 100-yard breaststroke, sophomore Susan Kim and senior Caroline Dowd took second and third place, respectively.

In the 50-yard freestyle, the Bulldogs took the top three spots. Junior Alexis Mann led the way with a first place time of 24.09. Freshman Becca Stern and sophomore Andrea Clifford took second and third place, respectively.

Mann and Stern also took the first two spots in the 100-yard freestyle with times of 53.00 and 53.33, respectively.

In the 200-yard breaststroke, Kim took first place with a time of 2:18.52. Dowd took third place with a time of 2:20.96.

Clifford led the way for the Bulldogs with a time of 58.39 in the 100-yard butterfly. Lucos took second in the event with a time of 58.92.
