TUCSON, Arizona, October 3. ANNIE Ochitwa, the top-ranked recruit out of Colorado and 31st overall in the class of 2015 on Collegeswimming.com, has verbally committed to attend the University of Arizona next year.

Ochitwa, who will graduate from ThunderRidge High School in Highlands Ranch in May, is extremely well rounded and will be a major contributor right away for the Wildcats. Her best times include a 22.74 in the 50 free, 49.92 in the 100 free, 54.48 in the 100 back and 54.74 in the 100 fly. She’s also a great long course swimmer, with a 26.23 in the 50 free, 57.47 in the 100 free, 1:03.85 in the 100 back and 1:04.92 in the 100 fly.

Ochitwa’s 50 free and 100 back times would have made the consolation final at the women’s Pac-12 Championships last season, while her 100 free and 100 fly would’ve placed in the C final. She could also contribute dual meet points in the breaststroke and IM events, with a 1:06.14 in the 100 breast and 2:06.74 in the 200 IM.

Arizona has a great tradition of producing top sprinters, and Ochitwa should make a huge impact in both individual and relay events.
