College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Picks Swimmers and Diver of the Week

NAPERVILLE – Wheaton’s Katie Deysher was named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women’s Swimmer of the Week on Tuesday.

Deysher, a junior from Colorado Springs, Colorado (Applied Health Science major), won the 200-yard individual medley in a dual meet victory over Carthage on Friday. Her time of 2:10.27 was an un-tapered personal best. She also set un-tapered bests in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:28.4) and the 100-yard backstroke (1:03.2).

Augustana’s Ian Disteldorf was named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Men’s Swimmer of the Week on Tuesday.

Disteldorf, a sophomore from Oak Forest, Illinois and Brother Rice High School, won a pair of individual events at the Grinnell Invitational over the weekend. He took first in the 100-yard breaststroke (59.85) and the 200-yard breaststroke (2:12.62) and also finished second in the 50-yard freestyle (22.58). Disteldorf was also part of the winning 200-yard medley relay (1:36.74), 200-yard freestyle relay (1:28.32) and 400-yard medley relay (3:34.22).

Rose-Hulman’s Sam Gould was named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Diver of the Week for the second time this season on Tuesday.

Gould, a junior from Greencastle, Indiana and South Putnam High School (Mechanical Engineering major), helped lead the Fightin’ Engineers to their first victory in school history over sixth-ranked DePauw in a 155-143 dual meet victory on Friday. He won the one-meter six dive event with a score of 277.65, which met an NCAA regional standard. He also finished second in the one-meter five dive event with a score of 171.5. His scores combined for an 11-dive score of 449.15, which met the NCAA regional qualifying standard. He was only 4.18 points off his own school record for 11 dives.
