Clemson Sweeps Duals at Florida Atlantic University Quadrangular Meet

BOCA RATON, FL, December 19. THE Florida Atlantic University swim team reported on hosting Clemson, Denver and Ohio State at the FAU Invite on Saturday morning at FAU pool.

Ellie Weberg came away with two wins for the women and the men's 200 free relay team took first in the final event of the day.

Weberg (Bloomington, MN) won the 100 breaststroke in 1:05.56 and swept the breaststroke events with a time of 2:21.92 in the 200 breast. Also picking up a win was captain Valeria Dalmastro. She swam a 24.82 in the 50 free.

With a time of 58.83 in the 100 fly, freshman Shawna Griffith earned a second place finish in the 100 fly.

Captains Adam Zeibig and Kenny Anderson both picked up second place finishes in their events. Zeibig touched the wall in 1:56.49 in the 200 butterfly while Anderson took second in the 100 fly with a time of 52.11.

The men's 200 freestyle relay team won the final event of the meet with a time of 1:25.69.

A diving team laden with freshman added needed points to the scores. Samantha Schlachterman finished second on the 1-meter board and third on the 3-meter board with scores of 221.30 and 214.65.

On the men's side, Nick McMahon placed second in both the 1 and 3-meter events by recording scores of 222.65 and 229.20.

FAU's next meet will be on January 7th when the team hosts another Invitational at FAU Pool.
