Class of 2012 Swimming World Five Star Lindsey McKnight Selects College

PHOENIX, Arizona, September 16. SWIMMING World five-star recruit Lindsey McKnight knows where she is headed for college next year.

McKnight, who maintains her profile in the Swimming World College Recruit Rankings, is an IMer from Coral Springs, Fla., and isn't moving too far away as she has committed to the University of Florida.

"I decided on Florida because not only does it have some of the best female and male athletes in the world, but everyone creates a family-like atmosphere where I feel comfortable and where I feel like I can succeed my goals in and out of the water," McKnight told Swimming World. "The coaches there really care for their athletes and will push me hard enough to where I can reach my full potential."

McKnight, who trains with Sid Cassidy at Saint Andrews and preps at American Heritage, would have made the B Final at the NCAA Division I Championships this year with a personal best of 1:58.03 in the 200-yard IM. She also would have qualified to compete in the 200-yard free with a 1:46.18, adding a potential 800 free relay swimmer to the mix for Florida. McKnight also owns B cuts in the 50-yard free (22.74) and 100-yard free (49.11).
