Class of 2011 Swimming World Five Stars Melanie Klaren, Allison Roberts Choose Colleges; Other Recruits Make Commitments

PHOENIX, Arizona, October 12. SWIMMING World five stars Melanie Klaren and Allison Roberts of the Class of 2011 have made their college destination choices made public with verbal commitments.

Klaren, who maintains her profile in the Swimming World College Recruit Rankings, is an all-around threat who will be headed to the University of California after this year.

"I chose Cal because I fell in love with Teri [McKeever]'s program and everything about the school," Klaren told Swimming World. "I loved Berkeley and the entire team, and I can't wait to be a part of their great tradition."

Klaren swims for the Mission Viejo Nadadores and preps at Aliso Niguel High in Laguna Niguel, Calif. She has multiple long course senior national cuts: 100m free 56.84; 200m free 2:00.71; 400m free 4:15.12; 800m free 8:47.39; 100m back 1:02.22; 200m back 2:15.09.

Roberts, who maintains her profile in the Swimming World College Recruit Rankings, is backstroke specialist who will be headed to Penn State University after this year.

"I absolutely loved the campus, the team, the coaches and the academics are excellent there," Roberts told Swimming World. "Penn State is just the perfect fit for me."

Roberts swims for the Parkland Aquatic Club and preps at Emmaus High in Emmaus, Pa. She owns long course senior national cuts in the 100 back (1:02.51) and 200 back (2:14.15).

Meanwhile, four-star Elisa Worrell, who maintains her profile in the Swimming World College Recruit Rankings, is a backstroke specialist from NOVA of Virginia who will be headed to the University of South Carolina after this year.

Additionally, four-star Collin Higgins, who maintains his profile in the Swimming World College Recruit Rankings, is a backstroke specialist from SwimMAC who will be headed to Virginia Tech after this year.
