Class of 2011 Swimming World Five-Star Seth Stubblefield Selects College

PHOENIX, Arizona, September 24. SWIMMING World five-star recruit Seth Stubblefield made his verbal commitment recently, and is taking his talents from Plano, Texas and heading to the Pac-10 Conference.

Stubblefield, who maintains his profile in the Swimming World College Recruit Rankings, is a multiple event star who will be headed to the University of California after his senior year of high school.

"I guess just the main thing is that I fell in love with absolutely everything about [California]," Stubblefield told Swimming World. "The atmosphere, student life, environment, and academics of the school are incomparable. Also, there is no way you can find better coaches and people than Dave [Durden] and Greg [Meehan]. Finally, the team was very welcoming and encouraging, and I really just felt like I was part of a family while I was there."

Stubblefield is a member of the City of Plano Swim Club, and preps at Plano Senior High in Texas. He already has five long course senior national cuts: 50m free 23.07; 100m free 50.83; 200m free 1:52.04; 100m fly 54.51; 200m fly 1:59.15. His top short course yard time is in the 50 free (20.23).

This commitment comes just days after fellow five-star recruit Christian Higgins made the call to attend California as well.
