BEJING, CHINA – The Chinese Swimming Association plans more drug tests and tougher sanctions to strengthen control over doping, swimming officials said. The organization will increase drug tests to 600 and impose a life ban against first-time steroid offenders, the Xinhua News Agency reported in a story at the annual anti-doping conference. ”We are determined to strengthen the doping control in the nation and to resurrect the image of Chinese swimming,” said Wu Shouzhang, vice president of the Chinese Olympic Committee.
