Chinese National City Games: Shao Yiwen Just Misses Season Best in 400 Free

NANCHANG, China, October 18. THE second day of long course meter competition at the Chinese National City Games is in the books in Nanchang, China with four titles being awarded by the end of the session.

Shao Yiwen missed her season best in the women's 400 free with a winning time of 4:04.86. That swim came up just short of her sixth-ranked time of 4:04.59 from Chinese Nationals held in September. Li Xuanxu placed second in 4:07.73, while Chen Shiyun turned in a 4:08.18 for third.

Sun Mengyue grabbed the women's 100 fly crown in 59.72, while Yu Yue touched second in 1:00.03. Li Tingting earned third-place honors in 1:00.20. Li Tianhao clocked a 1:01.83 to win the men's 100 breast title, while Mao Feilian placed second in 1:03.50. Wang Chao finished just behind with a third-place time of 1:03.52.

Guangzhou topped the men's 400 free relay event in 3:21.46, while Nanjing earned second in 3:22.31 and Shanghai Minhang finished third in 3:22.37.

Plenty of semifinal heats took place during day two as well. Li Yunqi led the way in the men's 200 free with a 1:51.70, off his 25th-ranked season best of 1:47.69. Maofei Lian finished second in 1:51.94, while Wang Shun took third in 1:53.42.

Fan Rong paced the women's 100 breast semis with a 1:09.16, while Li Xiang finished second in 1:09.75. He Yuzhe qualified third in 1:09.94. Lin Yongqing posted a 55.22 to lead the men's 100 back semifinal rounds. Zhang Fenglin qualified second in 55.66, while Xu Jiayu picked up third in 55.72.
