Cecil Russell Still Coaching, Even After Lifetime Swimming Canada Ban

OAKVILLE, Canada, June 22. EVEN after the Ontario Superior Court reinstated Cecil Russell's lifetime ban from Swimming Canada, he has still been seen on deck at the Dolphins Swib Club in Oakville, according to a report by Randy Starkman in The Star.

As reported previously, Russell was banned due to doping violations.

The report states that Russell's lawyer claims he is acting as a personal trainer, while the Dolphins Swim Club explains that he is now a volunteer coach with the team.

While Russell can no longer be employed in an official capacity within the Swimming Canada structure, he still has options of getting around the ban as a Canadian citizen, explains Starkman.

Starkman, in the article, really shines the light on the parents of the Dolphins Swim Club. It really comes down to whether the parents want someone with a lifetime ban from swimming still being involved in the program – even in a tangential way.
