California’s Caitlin Leverenz Continues To Impress, Moves to Second All Time in 200 Breast

FEDERAL WAY, Washington, February 25. A day after giving the American and NCAA record a run in the women's 400-yard IM, California's Caitlin Leverenz did the same in the 200-yard breaststroke at the Pacific 12 Swimming and Diving Championships.

Leverenz charted a blistering time of 2:05.49 in the distance breaststroke event, moving to second all time in the event behind only Rebecca Soni (2:04.75). Tara Kirk, the previous second-ranked swimmer, is the only other swimmer to crack 2:06 in the event's history. Previously, Leverenz's lifetime best had been a 2:06.23 from the 2011 NCAA Division I Championships.
