The 2016 FINA Diving World Series will only feature four stops on the tour as athletes get ready for the Rio Olympics. Normally, the series runs through the entire spring season, but will stop a month early next year.

The locations will take divers all over the world. The first stop will be in Beijing on March 11 at the Water Cube, where the 2008 Olympics will be held. Less than a week later, the next stop will be in Dubai on the other side of the Asian continent.

The tour comes to North America April 15, where Windsor will host the diving event eight months before it hosts the short course swimming world championships. The tour will conclude a week later in Russia, in a city yet to be named.

Some of the divers in the hunt for Olympic medals in 2016 will be honing their craft on the World Series circuit. Great Britain’s Tom Daley was a regular on the 2015 tour, as were many of the top Chinese divers, including Yang Jian and Chen Ruolin. Look for divers from other countries to emerge in this series in their bid for Olympic hardware.

The Diving World Series is different from the Diving Grand Prix, which is a nine-meet series that runs from February to October each year. The final three stops of the 2015 Grand Prix are taking place on the Pacific Rim, with a competition beginning today in Singapore.
