Caleb McDermott Takes Home The Money Box Cap 2k

AUSTIN, Texas, May 9. THIS past weekend, Texas All-American Caleb McDermott claimed The Money Box Cap 2k title. According to a release sent out by the event, McDermott beat Wil Singley and Andrew Mays with a time of 26:12.03.

Claire Singley, Wil's sister, won the girls high school state championship with a time of 28:34.29. Lisa Ginder took second in 12:28.34.

Carroll Open Water Club won both the boys and girls American Swimming Association Texas High School Open Water Championship. The High School division of The Money Box Cap 2k served as the initial open water high school state championship in any state.

The Money Box Cap 2k Open Water Race and Pledge Swim, a 2000-meter, point-to-point, downhill swim in Town Lake in downtown Austin, Texas raises money to support an Austin treasure, Deep Eddy Pool, the oldest public swimming pool in Texas.
