Brooke Bauer of Louisville, Kentucky and Lakeside/Sacred Heart Academy has recently committed to swimming at North Carolina. Bauer had an impressive list of schools to choose between which included Georgia, Tennessee, North Carolina State, and Alabama.

According to collegeswimming.com, Bauer is the number six recruit in the state of Kentucky and the number four recruit in the Louisville area.

As a sophomore Bauer won both the 50 and the 100 yard freestyle at the Kentucky State meet. While there, she succeeded in breaking the state record in the 50 not once, but twice! In prelims she turned in a time of 23.37 before turning in a time of 23.14 in finals to break her own record.

Bauer has qualified for the 2016 Olympic Trials in the 50 freestyle, and was a member of the record-setting 200 medley and 200 free relays at the 2015 KHSAA State Meet.

Bauer’s teammates have also committed to schools. Kennedy Lohman will be moving to Arizona and Asia Seidt to Kentucky.
