November and December will see many of Great Britain’s best racing at top-level meets on three continents, including December’s Duel in the Pool and European short course championships.

Though the full roster for the European All-Stars hasn’t been announced yet, British Swimming has posted the names of seven of its swimmers who will be taking part in the Duel in the Pool. Among them is world champion James Guy, who will give the Europeans a big push in the 200 and 400 freestyles against the likes of Americans Ryan Lochte, Conor Dwyer and Connor Jaeger. Also swimming on the European squad will be Daniel Wallace, who won’t have as far to fly, as he trains in Florida.

Jaz Carlin, Hannah Miley, Andrew Willis, Siobhan-Marie O’Connor and Lauren Quigley are set to swim in the Dec. 11-12 meet.

The other major competition of the fall is the European short course championships, which will take place the week before the Duel in the Pool. Carlin, Miley, O’Connor and Willis are the only British swimmers who will compete at the European championships in Israel as well as the Duel in the Pool in the United States. World record holder and world champion Adam Peaty will be looking to finish out a strong year that could see him claiming more world records, this time in the short course pool.

Former junior world record holder Luke Greenbank will get his first taste of a major senior-level competition when he races at the European championships. Greenbank was on fire at the European Games, where he set the world junior record in the 200 backstroke. The rest of the roster features a Who’s Who of top British talent: Roberto Pavoni, Georgia Coates, Fran Hallsal, Robbie Renwick, Liam Tancock and Chris Walker-Hebborn.

As prep for the big meets in December, British Swimming is sending 22 athletes to the final two FINA World Cup meets in Doha and Qatar next week. The fall racing schedule will conclude with seven swimmers competing in the Amsterdam Cup the same weekend as the Duel in the Pool.

Great Britain is currently enjoying its best year in the pool. The team won nine medals at the world championships, including a first-ever men’s 800 free relay title and three individual gold medals. The nation collected seven medals at the junior world championships, including a gold medal and junior world record by Rosie Rudin in the women’s 400 IM.
