NEW COMMIT: Scott Lyons, a member of the Class of 2019 at Providence Day School in Charlotte, North Carolina, has announced his verbal commitment to swim for Arizona State University. Lyons is a breaststroker and IMer at SwimMAC Carolina.

His best times include:

  • 100 Breast 55.08
  • 200 Breast 2:00.68
  • 200 IM 1:50.85
  • 100 Fly 49.25
  • 100 Free 46.16

Already in 2018 Lyons has taken a full second from his best time in the 100 breast (It stood at 56.18 at the end of 2017). In the 200 breast Lyons has chopped four seconds off so far this year.

At February’s Pac-12 Championship it took a 1:57.8 to score points in the 200 breaststroke. In the 100 breaststroke, a 54.77 was good for 16th in the morning. Lyons is closing in on that scoring time. His best would have at least earned him a second swim in the C final.
