Brazilian Long Course Championships: Cesar Cielo Wins 50 Fly

RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil, April 21. CESAR Cielo continued a strong meet with another victory at the Brazilian World Championships Trials during the second day of racing.

Cielo tied for sixth in the world rankings in the men's 50 fly with a 23.68. Simao Morgado checked in second with a 24.37, while Gabriel Mangabeira placed third in 24.53.

Felipe Silva snagged the men's 100 breast crown in 1:01.44, while Tales Cerdeira took second in 1:01.62. Henrique Barbosa picked up third in 1:01.81.

Diogo Yabe touched out Henrique Rodrigues, 4:21.49 to 4:21.64, in the men's 400 IM. Gabriel Ogawa earned third in 4:32.50. Diogo Carvalho edged Rodrigo Castro, 1:51.05 to 1:51.31, in the men's 200 free. Vinicius Waked wound up third in 1:51.72.

Daynara de Paula won the women's 50 fly in 26.55, while Gabriella Silva earned second in 26.77. Both times are among the top 20. Daniele Jesus picked up third in 27.02. Nadia Vieira captured the women's 400 IM in 4:53.87. Julia Siqueira touched second in 5:03.93, while Camila Zattar pocketed third in 5:22.81.

Jessica Cavalheiro topped the women's 200 free in 2:03.09, while Larissa Oliveira placed second in 2:03.37. Ana Carolina Santos rounded out the top three in 2:05.40. Ana Rodrigues beat out Tatiane Sakemi, 1:11.34 to 1:11.66, in the women's 100 breast. Carolina Mussi completed the podium in 1:12.29.
