Bolles’ Ryan Murphy Blasts National High School Record in 100 Back Prelims Video Included

ORLANDO, Florida, November 10. DURING the Florida State High School Championships, 1A Division, Bolles' Ryan Murphy shot down the national high school record in the 100-yard backstroke.

Murphy clocked a blistering time of 45.34 in preliminaries of the event. That swim cleared not only the independent school record of 46.82 set by Alex Lim also for Bolles back in 1999, it also clipped the 45.49 set by David Nolan of Hershey High in Pennsylvania in 2011. With the performance, Murphy shoots to 16th all time in the event's history. Nolan's time also used to be the 17-18 U.S. National Age Group record, which Murphy now holds as well.
