Boise State Adds Hill as Assistant

BOISE, Idaho, Aug. 7 BOISE State University’s women’s swimming and diving program announced the hiring of Laurel Hill as an assistant coach on Monday.

"I am excited to have Laurel join our staff," BSU head coach Kristin Hill (no relation) said. "She comes highly recommended. Her leadership and experience coaching at the club level in California as well as her competitive experience at an outstanding division I swimming program, will be key components to help us grow quickly as a new team."

Laurel Hill was a four-year letterwinner at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where she served as team-captain her final two seasons and earned scholastic all-conference team each of her final three seasons. She also was a Big 8 Conference finalist all four years.

Hill has 30 years of swimming experience, serving as an instructor for the past 25 years. Most recently, Hill served as the head coach, CEO and President of the Golden West Swim Club in Huntington Beach, Calif. Hill's professional accomplishments include finalist finishes at the SCS Junior Olympics, Western Zones, Swim Festival, Quad Meet, CIF, USAS Grand Prix, Western Zone Sectionals, and the Junior Nationals. She earned her masters in psychology at San Jose State University.

"I am really excited to be working with Kristin to bring collegiate swimming to Boise State," Hill said. "The challenge of starting a team will be fun and rewarding. My husband and I are looking forward to getting to know the community and discover all the great things it has to offer our family and the young women we will be recruiting."
