Bob Glover’s Big Day Leads Indiana At Day 2 Of Hoosierland Invite

Even with Blake Pieroni and other top swimmers competing at AT&T Winter Nationals, the Indiana Hoosiers have dominated the first two days of the Hoosierland Invitational.

Day Two’s finals began with the women’s 200-yard medley relay. The Hoosiers relay team of backstroker Marie Chamberlain, breaststroker Laura Morley, butterflier Olivia Barker and freestyler Grace Vertigans won the race with a time of 1:41.12.

In the men’s race, Indiana picked up a NCAA ‘A’ time standard with a time of 1:25.25. The team consisted of backstroker Bob Glover, breaststroker Tanner Kurz, butterflier Max Irwin and freestyler Ali Khalafalla.

Indiana swimmers made up the top five in the women’s 400-yard individual medley. Sam Lisy won the race in 4:11.27. Grayson Smith claimed the men’s title for the Hoosiers with a time of 3:50.58.

Indiana’s Gia Dalesandro picked up the victory in the women’s 100-yard butterfly with a time of 52.58. Oliver Patrouch, also with Indiana, won the men’s race in 47.84.

Indiana’s streak was snapped in the women’s 200-yard freestyle. Cincinnati’s Jackie Keire won the race in 1:43.58. Indiana’s Jackson Miller brought home the men’s title in 1:35.17.

Cincinnati’s Kennedy Herbert earned the victory in the women’s 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:02.95. In the men’s race, Kurz picked up his second win of the day with a time of 53.07.

Chamberlain took the crown in the women’s 100-yard backstroke with a time of 52.17, her second win of the day. Glover also took home a second event title, winning the men’s 100-yard backstroke in 46.55.

The men’s and women’s 800-yard freestyle relay concluded the night.

Indiana took first in the women’s race. The Hoosier team consisted of Delaney Barnard, Stephanie Marchuk, Grace Vertigans and Hailey Lips.

The Indiana men also won. The team of Smith, Irwin, Miller and Adam Destrampe posted a time of 6:32.56.

Tomorrow will be the final day of the meet.
