Bluegrass Mountain Conference Championships: Day Three

CHARLOTTE, North Carolina, February 18. CATAWBA sophomore Laurenn Singleton (Elkin, NC/Elkin HS) added two more individual school records during action on the third day at the Bluegrass Mountain Conference Swimming Championships on Friday at the Mecklenburg County Aquatic Center. Singleton established new marks in the 100 fly and 100 breast, giving her three new marks during the meet.

Singleton finished eighth overall in the 100 fly with her time of 58.99 then won the ‘B' final of the 100 breast in time of 59.02. The breaststroke time was a NCAA ‘B' cut. She was also a member of the 200 medley relay team that finished fifth in a time of 1:51.40, the second fastest in school history. Singleton was joined by Katie Huff (Richfield, NC/N. Stanly HS), Leah Constan-Tatos (Johannesburg, SOUTH AFRICA/St. Andrews HS) and Tori Kiefner (Charlotte, NC/Providence HS).

Mikael Karlsson (Norsborg, SWEDEN/Tullinge Gymnasium) added another NCAA ‘B' cut swim as he won the ‘B' final of the 400IM. His time of 4:08.12 was the second best in school history. Christoffer Stolt (Stockholm, SWEDEN/Fryshuset) placed sixth in the 100 breast with a NCAA ‘B' cut time of 57.82. The men won the ‘B' final of the 200 medley relay.
