Bigelow Named Senior Team Coach at Aqua Crest

DELRAY BEACH, Florida, September 26. Steven Bigelow has been named the Senior Team Swim Coach of the Aqua Crest Swim Team.

“It is important coaches guiding swimmers careers share similar views,” head coach David Wright said. “We have both been involved in Olympic competition, Steven as a USA team member at the Seoul Olympic Games and me as a coach at Barcelona. Guiding young people to the top in this sport is much easier when you have been there yourself. Steven’s career was based on the same foundation of long distance conditioning used at Aqua Crest. Steven firmly believes in the benefit of proper conditioning before expecting exceptional race results.”

In addition to competing in the Olympic Games Bigelow’s competitive career included four years at the University of Michigan where he won state, Big Ten and U.S. National Championships. He also earned 1988 Florida Gold Coast Swimmer of the Year honors. Bigelow has had coaching experience as a YMCA and Club Head Coach and Assistant Coach or Councilor positions at Fort Wayne, Wolverine and Pine Crest.

Bigelow will start coaching at the Aqua Crest Pool on Nov. 1, 2006.
