Betsey Armstrong, Elsie Windes and Brenda Villa Talked About Team USA’s Goal for Water Polo Gold on The Morning Swim Show

PHOENIX, Arizona, August 10. GOLD has been on the minds of the entire American women's water polo team since grabbing silver in Beijing four years ago, and on the road toward that golden goal, a few players visited The Morning Swim Show over the years to talk about their preparations for London.

Even back in 2010, the United States looked like a strong bet to win gold, since they hadn't lost a tournament since the 2008 Olympics. Betsey Armstrong, the team's indomitable goalie, talked in this Sept. 3, 2010, interview about what makes Team USA so powerful.

Shortly after experiencing the Olympic venue in a test event in May, Elsie Windes talked about the teams that could challenge for gold and what it would take for the United States to win.

Also featured on the show back in 2009 was the ever-popular Brenda Villa, who came from a low-income area in California to be a part of all four water polo squads and win four Olympic medals. Click here to watch interview.

Swimming World will bring you more interviews with the gold medal-winning squad in the coming days, so stay tuned!
