Bentley vs. Keene State

KEENE, New Hampshire, January 25. ANNE Kaduboski (Dedham, Mass./Dedham HS) was a triple-winner for the Bentley University women's swimming and diving team, but it wasn't enough as the Falcons dropped a 174-124 decision to Keene State College Saturday afternoon at the Spauding Gym Pool.

Kaduboski accounted for three of Bentley's five victories, touching first in the 500 yard freestyle (2:00.57), the 200 butterfly (2:13.65) and the 100 fly (1:00.13). In the process, she extended her string of winning individual races in dual meets o 41.

Bentley sophomore Emily Travers (Brentwood, N.H./Exeter HS) swept the diving events, amassing 222.04 points in the one-meter and 209.00 in the three-meter.

Senior Kristen Thuerk (Cheshire, Conn./Cheshire HS) was responsible for two of Bentley's five individual second-place finishes in the meet, with times of 11.26.34 in the 1000 free and 2:19.95 in the 200 fly.

The other seconds were registered by junior Carolyn Connolly (Palm Desert, Calif./Palm Desert HS) in the 50 free (27.65), senior Kaitlin Chepeleff (Vernon, Conn./Rockville HS) in the 200 breaststroke (2:38.90) and senior Marissa Cerami (Mahwah,N.J./Bergen County Academies) in the three-meter diving (180.90).

Keene State (7-4), was led by sophomore Alea Paddock (Newbury, N.H.), who won three individual events (100 breast, 200 breast and 200 IM) and participated on the Owls' winning 200 medley relay team.

Bentley, which had been 6-0 in January, fell to 7-4 on the season. The Falcons will be back at home on Tuesday to take on Bridgewater State and Wheaton.

For the men, sophomores Egen Ouellette (West Hartford, Conn./Conard HS) and Jon Andrews (Southbury, Conn./Pomperaug HS) posted first-place finishes for the Bentley University men's swimming and diving team during Saturday's 198-101 loss to Keene State College at the Spaulding Gym pool. Keene captured 14 of 16 events en route to boosting its season record to 7-4.

Ouellette prevailed in the 200 yard freestyle, swimming to a time of 1:49.18, and Andrews was number one in the one-meter diving with a score of 210.20. Ouellette's meet also included a second in the 100 free (49.99 seconds).

Junior Sam Laden (Cheshire, Conn./Cheshire HS) had two seconds in breaststroke events for the Falcons, with times of 1:03.43 in the 100 and 2:21.81 in the 200. Bentley's other second was posted by junior Willie Connolly (Washington, Conn./Shepaug Valley HS) in the 200 individual medley (2:04.74).

Sophomore Connor Pennoyer (Norwalk, Conn.) helped lead Keene, taking two butterfly events and participating on two winning relays.

Bentley, 4-4, will host Bridgewater State and Wheaton on Tuesday at 6:30 pm.
