Benner Named Head Coach at Mecklenburg Aquatics

HUNTERSVILLE, N.C., Aug. 21. JAY Benner has been named the head coach of the Mecklenburg Aquatic Club on Sunday. Benner heads to North Carolina from the Tacoma Swim Club, a USA Swimming Gold Medal Club. He will begin his duties on Sept. 1.

Benner, the USA Swimming Developmental Coach of the Year in 2005, is a finalist for USA Olympic Committee's Developmental Coach of the Year this year. Additionally, Benner has coached on the USA World Cup team seven times, while being a member of the U.S. Swimming National Team Coaches List since 1999

Furthermore, Benner has developed seven National Team Swimmers including Dana Kirk, member of the 2004 Olympic Team.
