Baylor School Sweeps Notre Dame High and Hixson High

CHATTANOOGA, Tennessee, February 8. THE Baylor School varsity teams raced to victory Wednesday over Notre Dame High School and Hixson High at the Baylor Aquatic Center. The boys beat Notre Dame (118-43) and Hixson (118-32), while the girls downed Notre Dame (112-49) and Hixson (126-27).

Event winners for the boys were Brad Hamilton in the 500 freestyle and 100 breaststroke, Greg Roop in the 50 free and 100 butterfly, Brandon Lord in the 200 freestyle, Michael Vredeveld in the 100 backstroke, and Nathan Vredeveld in the 100 free and 200 IM.

Baylor also won all the relays. Those on the 200 medley were John Robinson, Graham Griffin, Roop and Hamilton, while the winning 200 free relay consisted of Michael Saad-Naguib, Michael Vredeveld, Nathan Vredeveld, and Troy Taylor. The highlight of the night was the final event of the meet in the 400 freestyle relay. The relay of Josh Sosna, Nathan Vredeveld, Roop and Hamilton set a Baylor Aquatic Center pool record.

In the girls meet, event winners were Caitlin Henagar in the 50 and 100 freestyle, Sloane Pitman in the 200 and 500 freestyle, Alison Lusk in the 100 butterfly and 100 breaststroke, Rachel Dyer in the 200 IM, and Erin Simpson in the 100 backstroke. The winning 200 medley relay consisted of Sarah List, Lusk, Simpson, and Caitlin Henegar, while the winning 200 free relay was Lusk, Henagar, Dyer, and Pitman. Meanwhile, the winning 400 free relay was comprised of Laurentina Schaler, Wesley Siniard, Henagar, and Dyer.

"This was a great opportunity to let our kids race some different events and gave the coaches valuable feedback on where the kids are in there training as we prepare for our championship meets", said Baylor Head Coach Dan Flack.
