Australia swept the relay events on the first day as the Dolphins claimed the women’s 800-meter free relay at the 2015 FINA World Junior Championships.

Tamsin Cook, Lucy Elizabeth McJannett, Shayna Jack and Gemma Cooney won the event in a meet-record time of 7:56.68.  That swim crushed the 7:59.42 meet record set by Team USA in 2013 that also stood as the World Junior record.

Cook’s leadoff leg of 1:58.16 set the meet record in the women’s 200-meter free.

Canada’s Penny Oleksiak, Rebecca Smith, Mary-Sophie Harvey and Taylor Ruck took silver in 7:57.04.

Russia’s Arina Openysheva, Daria Mullakaeva, Valeriia Salamatina and Anastassia Kirpichnikova grabbed bronze in a time of 7:57.58.

USA’s Lauren Case, Melissa Pish, Tatum Wade and Hannah Cox wound up fourth in 7:57.84.
