Aussie Social Media in the News Again as Stephanie Rice Draws Ire of Media Down Under

SYDNEY, Australia, June 27. JUST days from the latest social media issue with Australian swimmers centered around guns, pictures, Nick D'Arcy and Kenrick Monk, Stephanie Rice has caused a stir with her latest Twitter post according to various media outlets including The Herald Sun.

Rice, a three-time Olympic gold medalist, in in trouble for posting a picture in a designer bikini she said was sent to her by designer Ellie Gonsalves as a birthday present for Rice, who was celebrating her 24th birthday.

“Thank you to the Gorgeous @elliegonsalves for my birthday @veveswimwear bikini,” Rice tweeted along with the picture. The latest controversial picture in Australia has even led to some local media members to call for her ouster from the Olympic team, similar to the calls for Nick D'Arcy and Kenrick Monk's spots on the Olympic roster for their pictures.

She most recently ran into issues with social media in 2008 when she posted a racy picture of herself on Facebook dressed as a policewoman for Halloween. She also used a homosexual slur in 2010 after an Australian rugby win over South Africa.
