On the girls side, Mid-Pacific Institute was first with 62 points. Punahou finished close behind in second with 57, while Kamehameha Schools Kapalama took third with 24 points.

It was a close race in the 100 fly with the top three finishers all within .21 seconds of each other. Mid-Pacific Institute’s Rebecca Walton claimed gold with a time of 56.36. Kauai’s Yasmine Ware finished second in 56.44 while Lia Foster of Punahou rounded out the top three with a 56.57.

It was a race to third with Madison Kauahi of Kamehameha Schools Kapalama (52.72) out-touching Le Jardin’s Clancy Doyle (52.73) by .01.

Mid-Pacific’s Rebecca Walton succeeded in breaking a 13 year old record in the 500 free. Walton’s 4:56.29 took down Ashley Swart’s 2002 record of 4:57.27.

On the boys side, Punahou took gold with 56 points. Kamehameha Schools Kapalama were second with 44 points, and Iolani School finished third with 38.

Punahou junior Aukai Lileikis crushed the competition in the 200 free finishing in 1:35.62. He also managed to lower his own state record of 1:36.75.

Kanoa Kaleoaloha of Kamehameha Schools Kapalama just barely missed his own state record of 20.27, which he posted in prelims on Friday. His time took down Daniel Coakley’s 2007 record of 20.46. Kaleoaloha took first with a 20.28 while Sam Sutherland of Punahou finished second in 20.68.

Kanoa Kaleoaloha also smashed Ryan Stack’s 100 free record of 45.19 from 2014 first in prelims with a 44.93 before lowering it again during finals to a 44.70.

Punahou’s Aukai Lileikis clocked an impressive 4:24.26 in the 500 free finishing nine seconds before the competition. His time also took down Mark Eckert’s 2002 record of 4:28.60.

After tying Mark Eckert’s 2002 100 back record of 49.79 at last year’s state meet, Makoa Alvarez can finally say he owns it. The senior from Campbell clocked in an impressive 49.55 in both prelims and finals to make the record his own.
