Auburn Squeaks Past Texas By One Point

AUSTIN, Texas. January 13. THE No. 1 ranked Auburn Tigers had a scare tonight on their 40 consecutive win over the Texas Longhorns. Top notch battles played out in nearly every event, as race after race came down to the wire.

Auburn showcased some new sprint talent in the 50 free with Caesar Cielo. The other individual event winner for the Tigers was Eric Shanteau in the 200 IM and 200 breaststroke events. Auburn's Divers also went 1-2 on the boards to give themselves an edge.

For Texas, Klueh shined in the loss with wins in the 500-yard freestyle (4:27.91), 1,000-yard freestyle and the 200-yard butterfly (1:37.24). His time of 1:47.27 in the 200-fly was his fastest of the season and qualifies for NCAA Championship consideration.
