Attention Breaststrokers! This Dryland Tip Sure to Increase Leg Strength

PHOENIX, Arizona, March 12. WHETHER you are a world-class breaststroker or struggle through the stroke during an individual medley race, you know how important leg strength is for proper breaststroke technique.

Renowned trainer J.R. Rosania presents a great exercise for building leg strength for breaststroke with the dumbbell squat. Less stressful on the knees than traditional squats, the dumbbell squat adds a component at the top of the exercise: Rise onto your toes when standing for full range of motion!

Recognize the person demonstrating this exercise? That's SwimmingWorld.TV associate producer Jeff Commings, who worked with Rosania in preparation for the 2012 U.S. Olympic Swimming Trials, where he swam the 100-meter breast at age 38.

Special thanks to J.R. Rosania for providing this latest dryland exercise. Go to SwimmingWorld.TV for more dryland tips!
