INCHEON, South Korea, September 26.  The Asian Games came to a close today with another victory for Sun Yang and the Chinese coming out on top of the medal table. Swimming World contributor Jason Van Galder was in attendance to enjoy the festivities.

The Chinese have the largest population of expats living in Korea with about 10 million total, and they came out in force the final day of the Asian Games swimming portion. A sea of Chinese red was plastered across the pool’s upper deck. Korea, the hometown crew, came out below them with even a smaller Japanese fan turnout sprinkled among them, but not nearly as color coordinated as the Chinese fan-faithful.

Sun’s family was in full force at the meet as well.

Glad I was able to see the conclusion of the meet on Friday. Looking forward to the next one.
