Asian Games: Lim Wins Gold For Malaysia

Alex Lim, a junior at Bolles School in Jacksonville, Fla, from Malaysia, won his country’s first gold medal at the Asian Games yesterday when he won the 100m backstroke in a Games record time of 55.53. Competing under his Malaysian name, Keng-Liat Lim, the 17-year-old, who set a national high school record in the 100 yard backstroke last month (46.97) easily defeated China’s Fu Yong, the pre-meet favorite.
