Aquazots Take Down Boys 15-16 U.S. National Age Group Record in 400 Medley Relay

MONTEREY PARK, California, December 20. THE U.S. National Age Group record book took another hit today after the USA Swimming Winter Senior and Junior Nationals, along with the Speedo Tom Dolan Invitational, featured a truckload of new NAGs.

The Aquazot foursome of Danny Tran (49.28), Tyler Lin (567.07), Justin Hanson (49.48) and Thomas Smith (46.65) raced to a 3:21.48 to win the boys 400-yard medley relay tonight at the Southern California Swimming Senior Championships.

That effort beat the 2011 15-16 U.S. National Age Group record of 3:21.85 set by Crow Canyon’s Dillon williams, Brett Usigner, Bryan Hughes and David Morgan.

That team beat a more senior-laden A squad of Corey Okubo (48.74), Hunter Sa-Nguansap (56.76), Liam Karas (49.98) and Samuel Lee (46.84) to the wall as the A team took second in 3:22.32.
