Anna Moers of the Birmingham Swim League recently committed to swimming for Georgia Southern University and joining the class of 2020.

Moers, a native of Birmingham, AL and a member of the Vestavia Vills High School swim team, was a runner-up in the 50 free (23.82) and 100 back (56.31) at last year’s Alabama State Meet. She also qualified for a Winters National cut in the 100 back with a time of 56.31.

Some of her best times include:

  • 50 Free: 23.64
  • 100 Free: 52.33
  • 200 Free: 1:52.50
  • 50 Back: 26.37
  • 200 Back: 2:04.04

Last year’s team posted splits in the 800 free relay that varied between a low 1:49 and a low 1:53, giving Moers a solid chance to contend for a relay spot. Regarding individual events, Moers’ times would have landed her in the consolation final for the 50 free, 100 free, 200 free, and 200 back, while her 100 backstroke would have earned her an eighth place finish.

The Eagles finished third at last year’s Coastal Collegiate Sports Association Conference Championships under the leadership of head coach Nate Kellogg.
