Ann Hirsch Destroys Two U.S. Masters National Short Course Yards Records

BERKELEY, California, March 28. ANN Hirsch broke two Masters short course yards national records over the weekend at the Strawberry Canyon meet.

Hirsch, 80 years old and representing the Walnut Creek Masters team, swam an 8:21.22 in the 500 freestyle, erasing the national record of 8:26.37 in the 80-84 age group formerly held by Jean Troy. Hirsch returned to break the national record in the 100 breast with a 1:47.78. She obliterated the previous record of 1:51.91 by Nanette Bohl.
