Alexi Kuska Named Assistant Swimming Coach at Dartmouth

HANOVER, New Hampshire, August 13. THE Dartmouth men’s and women’s swimming and diving programs are pleased to announce the hiring of Alexi Kuska as an assistant coach. Kuska comes to the Big Green after serving as a volunteer assistant varsity swim coach at Ohio State University, a position she held for the 2013-14 season.

“We’re excited to have a coach of Alexi’s ability and background join our staff,” said head swim coach Jim Wilson. “She brings a level of energy and enthusiasm that will lift our swimmers’ ability in every workout, every day.”

While at OSU, Kuska provided administrative support for both the men’s and women’s teams, and assisted with recruiting efforts, athlete mentoring and meet preparation. She also traveled with the nationally ranked teams to all away dual meets, Big Ten Championships and the NCAA Championships.

Prior to working with the Buckeyes, Kuska was an assistant coach with the University of Chicago men’s and women’s swimming and diving programs from July 2012 through June 2013. Some of her duties included writing training sets, holding one-on-one meetings with the athletes, recruiting, and running weekly masters swim practices. During her time there, she was a member of the 2013 Men’s and Women’s University Athletic Association (UAA) Coaching Staff of the Year.

Kuska, who enjoyed a successful 15-year competitive swimming career, was a four-year member of the University of Richmond women’s varsity swim team from 2008-12 and was named co-captain during her senior year. She helped lead the Spiders to three Atlantic 10 (A-10) Championship titles during her time in Virginia.

Outside of collegiate coaching, Kuska has assisted at a number of swim camps throughout the country. In May of 2014, she was a guest coach at the Longhorn Swim Camp at the University of Texas-Austin and, before accepting the position at UChicago, was the Activity Head of Aquatics at Camp Wicosuta in Hebron, New Hampshire from June through August of 2012 and 2013.

Kuska graduated from Richmond in 2012 with a degree in psychology and a minor in religious studies.
