Alaska High School State Championships

ANCHORAGE, Alaska, November 9. AT the Alaska School Activities Association State Swimming and Diving Championships, the Service girls tallied 113 points for first. Kodiak took second (69) and East placed third (63). On the boys' side, Dimond won with 99 points followed by Juneau Douglas (84) and Lathrop (63).

Girls Individual Results
Dimond opened the meet with a first-place finish in the 200 medley relay. Michelle Hawkins, Nikki Wray, Lauren Summers, and Haley Bissell clocked a time of 1:50.54. Wray was a dual event winner in the 200 IM (2:08.06) and the 500 freestyle (5:14.26).

West Valley's Anne Goering had individual wins in the 200 (1:55.44) and 100 (52.47) freestyles.

Mary Uselmann, Christine Kirk, Victoria Adams, and Hannah Iverson (Service) won the 200 freestyle relay (1:39.72).

Sam Wicks (East) won the 50 freestyle (24.05) and the 100 backstroke (57.35).

Top finishers in the diving competition were Renee Jordan of East (363.40), Rachel Kennedy of Wasilla (306.80), and Savannah Craft of West Valley (292.35).

Margot Adams (Service) won the 100 butterfly with a time of 57.53. She teamed up with H. Iverson, V. Adams, and Jordan Iverson for a win in the 400 freestyle relay (3:39.99).

Boys Individual Results
Juneau Douglas won two of three relays. Cody Brunette, Seth Cayce, Tyler Mickelson, and Nick Rutecki won the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:36.33. Brunette also had individual wins in the 200 IM (1:54.79) and the 100 butterfly (50.42).

Matthew Summers (Dimond) won the 200 and 500 freestyles with times of 1:42.40 and 4:38.99 respectively.

Josh Anderson teamed up with Mickelson, Cayce, and Rutecki for a first-place finish in the 200 freestyle relay (1:27.93).

Wasilla's Jeff Frey was a dual event winner in the 50 (21.42) and 100 (46.63) freestyles.

Dalton Haas (Service) took first in the diving competition with a score of 444.55. Scott Wandersee (Kodiak) placed second (432.90) and Cade Bennett (Dimond) finished third (371.85).

Summers joined Cory Chan, Jackson Ursin, and David Wilcox in the 400 freestyle relay. The group won with a time of 3:15.61.
