Air Force to Kick Off 2017-18 Season with Blue/Silver Intersquad Meet

Both the Air Force men’s swimming & diving team and the women’s swimming & diving team will host their annual Blue/Silver intersquad meet on Saturday, September 23 at 9 a.m. inside Cadet Natatorium.

Both teams officially open the 2017-18 season at the Colorado Mesa Invitational on Friday, October 6 at 5 p.m.

The men’s team, coming off back-to-back Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Championships, will bring back seven seniors, two juniors, eight sophomores, and added 16 freshmen to the roster this season. The Falcons also return 10 cadet-athletes that earned at least one All-WAC award last season, including junior Steffen Mount, who broke the Air Force record in both the 50-free and 100-free last year, and sophomore Ben Brockman, the WAC’s reigning Freshman of the Year.

The women’s team will enter the 2017-18 season with two seniors, eight juniors, 16 sophomores and welcome in 16 freshman. Last season, the Falcons set nine Air Force records and had 26-top-10 program swims. Air Force brings back a trio of All-Mountain West performers from a year ago in senior Elise Hart, senior Jinan Andrews, and sophomore Lydia Knutson.

All home swimming & diving meets will be held in Cadet Natatorium and are free admission.
