Sixteen-year-old Jenna Jones won the 12 & Older Multi-Class 100 freestyle to open up the women’s events on Friday.

Jones finished in 1:03.01. Thirteen-year-old Jasmine Greenwood finished second (1:02.47) and nineteen-year-old Amy Cook was third (1:04.77).

Women’s 400 Free

Mikayla Sheridan surged to victory in the 400 free to kick off the open events for the evening.

Sheridan won the race in 4:02.00. Madison Wilson finished in second place at 4:04.54 and Kiah Melverton was third in 4:05.23.

Jordan White was fourth (4:06.04), followed by Jessica Ashwood (4:07.01), Leah Neale (4:08.22), Madeleine Gough (4:08.27) and Moesha Johnson (4:09.09).

Emma McKeon turned in an impressive 100 butterfly on Friday, surging to victory in 56.79.

Brianna Throssell finished second in 57.11, followed by Gemma Cooney (58.22).

Emily Washer finished fourth (59.26), followed by Laura Taylor (59.38), Ellysia Oldsen (59.61) and 16-year-old Brittany Castelluzzo (1:00.27).

Tianni Gilmour rounded out the top eight in 1:00.38.

Men’s 200 Back

Veteran Travis Mahoney took control and held off the competition in the 200 back. The 27-year-old finished in 1:52.54, besting the competition by more than a half second.

Daiya Seto of Japan was runner-up in 1:53.93.

Peter Mills finished third in 1:53.95, followed by Kazimir Boskovic in 1:54.06, Joshua Beaver in 1:54.35, Jared Gilliland in 1:54.65, Bowen Gough in 1:56.58 and Hayden Hinds-Syndenham in 1:56.99.

Another backstroke event, another veteran victory. Twenty-five-year-old Emily Seebohm cruised to victory in the 100 backstroke, winning in 56.80.

Minna Atherton finished second in 57.07, holding off Kaylee McKeown (57.11).

Holly Barratt (57.53) finished third, followed by Sian Whittaker (58.16), Abby Duncan (59.57), Gabriella Peiniger (1:00.58) and Jessica Adams (1:01.36).

Liam Hunter hung on to win the 100 breaststroke final, finishing in 58.27.

Tommy Sucipto was on his heels, but came up just short in 58.85.

Taylor McKeown dominated the field to win the 200 breaststroke. The 22-year-old finished in 2:20.55.

Jessica Hansen finished nearly three seconds behind in second place at 2:23.50.

Tessa Wallace was third (2:23.77), followed by Ruta Meilutyte (2:24.17), Mikayla Smith (2:25.51), Cassandra Van Breugel (2:27.28) and Aisling Scott (2:29.86).

It was a fantastic finish in the men’s 200 freestyle.

Zachary Attard split a 13.06 in the final 25 meters to win the event in 1:45.89, just a tenth of a second ahead of Jorden Merrilees (1:45.99).

Joshua Parrish was third (1:46.95), followed by Jack Gerrard (1:47.63), Jack McLoughlin (1:47.80), Thomas Wotton (1:47.97), Caiden Gill (1:48.55) and Andrew Spoon (1:49.05).

Daiya Seto continued his strong night with a win in the 200 IM. The 23-year-old from Japan finished in 1:53.33, well ahead of the rest of the field.

Travis Mahoney, also continuing his strong night, finished second in 1:55.28.

Kazimir Boskovic, also in his second final of the night, finished third in 1:55.77, followed by Tomas Elliott (1:56.18), Jared Gilliland (1:57.64), James Traiforos (1:58.22), Callum Sherington (1:59.11) and Hayden Hinds-Sydenham (1:59.1).
