More than 800 of America’s top up-and-coming swimmers will participate this week at USA Swimming’s 2015 Speedo Junior National Championships, opening Thursday at San Antonio’s Northside Swim Center.

The five-day meet, which runs through Monday, Aug. 3, will consist of daily prelims at 9 a.m. CDT, followed by finals at 6 p.m. CDT. Complete meet information, including a detailed schedule of events, can be found online at usaswimming.org.

Tickets for the event are on sale now and can be purchased online at sanantoniosports.org. Additionally, a live webcast of the entire meet will be available online at usaswimming.org.

Among the standout swimmers expected to compete in San Antonio are a number of USA Swimming National Junior Team members, including the likes of Ella Eastin (SOCAL Aquatics Association), Katie Drabot (Ozaukee Aquatics), Michael Andrew (Indie Swimming), Sean Grieshop (Nitro Swimming) and Alex Valente (Buenaventura Swim Club) – all medalists at last summer’s Junior Pan Pacific Championships.

Other juniors to watch in San Antonio include Reece Whitley (Penn Charter Aquatic Club), Maxime Rooney (Pleasanton Seahawks) and Miranda Tucker (Livonia Community Swim Club).

All competitors at Speedo Junior Nationals must be age 18 or under on the first day of the competition, and each participant met qualifying standards to earn a spot in the meet.

So Cal Jr Olympics, Western Sr Zones, Futures, and Jr Natl all on the same weekend. Really spreads the coaching thin…..makes it hard for the smaller clubs to have a presence!
