Men’s 200 free

Amherst’s Connor Sholtis edged defending champion Austin Caldwell of Kenyon by the slimmest of margins, 1:37.37 to 1:37.38, for the win.

Caldwell was faster to win last year with a time of 1:37.16, but couldn’t summon that type of speed to take out Sholtis.

Whitman’s Karl Mering, on the back end of a tough double, took third overall with a 1:37.60, while Johns Hopkins’ Evan Holder snared fourth in 1:37.77 in what proved to be a four-way line at the wall.
