2010 NCAA Division I Championships Impact Swimming World College Recruit Rankings

PHOENIX, Arizona, March 30. WITH the 2010 NCAA Division I Championships in the books, Swimming World has updated its College Recruit Rankings to reflect the new cuts. Due to the fact that, across the board, the 2010 NCAAs were slower than the techsuit-charged 2009 NCAA meets, several swimmers moved up to six-star status.

Here's a refresher course for how Swimming World stars are earned when it comes to short course yard times (long course meter cuts can also be found at www.swimmingworldmagazine.com/tym):
6 Stars: Have a time that would make the A final or multiple B finals at NCAAs
5 Stars: Have a time that would make a B final or multiple qualifying marks (the slowest qualifying time per event to be selected to compete at NCAAs)
4 Stars: Have a time that would clear a qualifying mark or multiple B cuts
3 Stars: Have a time that would clear a B cut
2 Stars: Have a time that would clear the NCSA Junior National cut
1 Star: Everyone else.

Accounting for the new times NCAA times, nine high school swimmers earned the elite Swimming World six star status. Here is a list with the newly-crowned swimmers (in bold), along with swimmers who already were six stars (information is as reported by swimmers in their user-generated Swimming World College Recruit Ranking profiles):
