2007 Year to Remember for Petar Stoychev

SOFIA, Bulgaria, November 12. THIS year is shaping up to be one for the ages when it comes to Bulgarian open water star Petar Stoychev's life. First, he became the first man to cross the English Channel in less than seven hours, then he was honored by the Bulgarian president for that crossing. About a month later, Stoychev then won the FINA Open Water Swimming Grand Prix title. However, this weekend's festivities should trump them all as Stoychev married his longtime love Asya Anastasova, according to the Sofia News Agency.

The wedding ceremony matching the open water star with his synchronized swimmer, as Anastasova was a Bulgarian Olympian in the team sport before becoming a news reporter for the local paper, took place at the Military Club in Sofia.
