2004 Central Zone – Topeka, Kansas Version

TOPEKA, Kansas, August 29. SEVEN meet records, five by the girls and two by the boys, fell at the Topeka, Kansas version of the 2004 Central Zone Age Group Championships. Central Zone also held a meet in Oxford, Ohio the same weekend.

One of the record breakers has a famous swimming family name in these parts: Bruce, as in 2004 200 breaststroke US Olympian Caroline Bruce. Jamie Bruce, Missouri Valley, was a multiple winner in the breaststrokes and IMs in the 13-14 girls, with the 200 breaststroke record falling to her at 2:43.18.
