2000 Eastern Classic Invitational

Atlanta, GA – North Carolina’s Meredith Green and Phoenix’s Klete Keller took the Outstanding Swimmer Awards as well as three pool records at the Eastern Classic. Both broke the pool records in the 1000 Free. Keller broke the old record of 9:09 by a whopping 5 seconds while Green got hers in a tight battle with Dynamo’s Caroline Burns, who also bested the record. Keller also broke the pool record in the 500 Free with a smoking 4:22.04. Four team records also fell. Amy Baly posted a new state and team record in the 17-18 500 free and Peter Marshall, Kelsey Duncan and Daniel McMahon made new team records in the Senior 200 Back, 10&Under 100 Back and 11-12 500 Free respectively. Elizabeth Hill and Kelsey Duncan led all Dynamo scorers with six wins. Eleven other Dynamo swimmers won events. They were Peter Marshall (5), Daniel McMahon, Max Randolph (4 each), Amy Baly, Ashley Daly (3 each), Robert Griest, Katie French (2 each), Katherine Bell, Bev Walker and Matt Montgomery. In the team race Dynamo won, while Pilot Aquatic Club of Knoxville nudged out the Arkansas All-Stars for second.
