Britain’s Best Set For Pre-Commonwealth Games Race Prep At British Gas International (Psych Sheets)

Adam Peaty, who just set the British national record in the 100 breaststroke last weekend, will face off with Michael Jamieson and Ross Murdoch in the breaststroke events to provide a preview of what’s to come at the Commonwealth Games in Scotland. Jazz Carlin, the world leader in the 800 free, is only racing the 400 free, while Hannah Miley, who normally races in multiple events, is only swimming the 200 IM and 800 free.

Lithuanian Ruta Meilutyte, who lives and trains in the United Kingdom, will also show up in a few races. In addition to her specialty events, the 50 and 100 breaststrokes, Meilutyte will be seen in several freestyle races and the 50 butterfly.

Though the meet was open to swimmers outside Great Britain, none of the top European swimmers are listed in the psych sheets. This will be an all-U.K. affair, but one that should tell us who is on target for medals in late July at the Commonwealth Games.
