After just being officially named to the Welsh Commonwealth Games team, Jazz Carlin will race in the 200, 400 and 800 freestyles. Carlin leads the world rankings in the 800 and is in the top five in the 400.

Other top Brits appearing in the meet are double Commonwealth Games champion Liam Tancock, who is looking to return to form after about five months of full training after rehab on double shoulder injury; Rachael Kelly, who had a breakout meet at the British nationals in April; Daniel Fogg, an Olympic finalist in the 1500 free; and rising IM talent Ieuan Lloyd.

Camille Muffat was set to race in the meet, but has withdrawn due to a hip injury, according to the French sports newspaper L’Equipe. In his place to give a boost to the French team will be Jeremy Stravius, who raced in the first stop on the circuit in Monaco, and Florent Manaudou, the reigning Olympic champion in the 50 free.

Other names to watch include Thiago Pereira of Brazil, who is not racing in his specialties, the 200 and 400 IM; Canadians Noemie Thomas and Jeremy Bagshaw; and Pawel Korzeniowski, who just posted a top five time in the 200 fly at the Polish nationals.

One notable absence will be Hungary’s Katinka Hosszu, who was impressive in Monte Carlo with three wins that included a lifetime best in the 400 freestyle.
