OLSZTYN, Poland, June 7. IT proved to be a fruitful day for Polish swimmers assembled at the Polish Nationals in Olsztyn today as one of the top 100 flies in the world went up on the scoreboard. Meanwhile, Alicja Tchorz continued her Katinka Hosszu impression with a fourth and fifth victory.

Wisla Pulawy's Konrad Czerniak vaulted to fifth in the SwimVortex world rankings in the men's 100-meter fly as he torched the finale with a 51.89. Only Viacheslav Prudnikova (51.60), Nikita Konovalov (51.83), Takuro Fujii (51.84) and Steffen Deibler (51.86) have been faster this year. Pawel Korzeniowski touched second in 52.33 to move to a 16th-ranked tie with Evgeny Koptelov and Jayden Hadler. Meanwhile, Marcin Cieslak finished third in the fast finale with a 52.73.
Lodz's Aleksandra Urbanczyk moved into a 12th-ranked tie with Madison Wilson in the women's 50-meter back with a winning time of 28.25 tonight in the sprint backstroke event. Juvenia Wroclaw's Klaudia Nazieblo took second in 28.66 with Alicja Tchorz finishing third in 28.74.
Juvenia Wroclaw's Alicja Tchorz blasted her way to her fourth title of the meet so far with a 1:00.87 in the women's 100-meter fly. Warsaw's Mirella Olczak finished second in 1:01.46 with Wodnik Radom's Paulina Nogaj taking third in 1:01.78. Tchorz doubled up for the second day in a row for her fifth win od the meet as she posted a 2:15.80 in the women's 200-meter IM. Jowita Sienczyk (2:18.58) and Karolina Szczepaniak (2:20.58) completed the podium.
Katowice's Tomasz Polewka grabbed the men's 50-meter backstroke title in 25.55 with Warta Ponan's Jakub Jonczyk taking second in 25.81. Lodz's Maksymilian Zgierski wound up third in the sprint back with a 25.85.
Slask Wroclaw's Weronika Paluszek stopped the clock in 2:29.41 to win the women's 200-meter breaststroke, while Szczecin training partners Paulina Majsutowicz (2:33.49) and Paulina Zachoszcz (2:33.77) finished second and third. Katowice's Mikolaj Machnik checked in with a 2:12.63 to win the men's 200-meter breast. Zolborz Warszawa's Marcin Stolarski turned in a Polish junior record with a second-place 2:13.48, while Marcin Hulboj took third in 2:14.94.
Ostrowiec's Donata Kilijanska chased down the women's 400-meter free title with a 4:15.00, while Olsztyn's Joanna Zachoszcz (4:15.96) and Monika Czerniak (4:16.50) rounded out the top three. Filip Zaborowski clinched the men's 400-meter free title in 3:49.66, while Wojciech Wojdak took second in 3:51.20. Pawl Furtek picked up third in 3:52.83. Marcin Cieslak closed out day three with a 2:01.11 to win the men's 200-meter IM. Marcin Suzin (2:02.97) and Radoslaw Kawecki (2:03.35) took second and third.
